Shenandoah Crossing Equestrian Center hours of operation are seasonal. All rides require reservations by calling ext. 9571. The rates listed below are for Bluegreen owners, guests of owners and, exchange/resort guests.

Summer Program

Walking Trail Rides are 45 minutes in length. The horses are "nose to tail" walking a trail traversing areas of the resort and accompanied by trail guides. Bluegreen owners are complimentary, exchange guests $15, guest of resort $35.

Wagon Rides are a complimentary 20 minute ride along the roads in the resort. The wagon seats are hay bales and the wagon is pulled by a tractor.

Pony Rides are complimentary for children under the age of 8. Parents may lead the pony around the ring. Please be courteous of other guests waiting for pony rides.

Extended Rides are also walking trail rides, but extended rides are 1.5 hours long. The horses are "nose to tail" walking a trail traversing areas of the resort and accompanied by trail guides. Bluegreen owners $10, exchange guests $25, guest of resort $40.

Carriage Rides are horse drawn and travel the roads on the resort. Approximately 45 minutes in length, fees are $15 for adults, $10 for children. Children under 5 ride free.

Wrangler Program is a two-day program in which participants learn about breeds, colors, markings, anatomy of the horse, parts of the saddle, basic horse care and handling. This also involves a riding lesson and trail ride. Participants are required to wear boots. Bluegreen owners $50, exchange guests $60, guest of resort $70.

Non-Summer Program

Experienced Rides These 45 minute rides progressively take the horses through walk, trot, and canter and then a 10 minute cool down. Riders are required to wear boots and successfully pass the experienced test.* These rides are $5.00 for Bluegreen owners, $25 for exchange guests, and $45 for guests of the resort.

Ring Rides These permit riders 30 minutes in the ring to walk, trot and canter with the horse. Riders are required to wear boots and successfully pass the Experienced Test. These rides are $5.00 for Bluegreen owners, $25 for exchange guest and $40 for guests of the resort.

*Experienced Test. Successful completion of this test permits riders over age 12 to participate in ring rides, and riders over age 18 to participate in experienced rides. This test covers proper handling of horses, safety checks, and rider abilities.
